La Skyline from my Roof

Every once in a while, from my apartment roof, you can see the downtown LA skyline (about 10 miles away). About three times a year you can see the mountains past it! It was quite the treat to find when the mountains were unveiled for the first time in 2009 that I could get palm trees and snow capped mountains in the same shot! For point of reference, just to the left beyond the edge of the image (looking further west) is the Hollywood sign. With my point and shoot I just couldn't quite get it all.

Fisler Family Jan 2009

Our immediate family hasn't been together in two years. The first weekend in January we all finally were able to get together, as well as celebrate new little Elizabeth Henderson into the family! Of course this means lots of family photos going on...these are a few of my favorites. Shooting pictures of babies is a challenge...yeah for digital. I wish I lived closer to little Elisabeth! This little one will never know she had baby acne...love love Photoshop!

Christmas Gifts

I really wanted a great gift to give family, roommates, and friends for Christmas....and still affordably make it with a personal touch. The end result was making small cards....they were perfect! I had them printed in bulk at psprint.com. They were the best deal I found for price-per-piece and the color was dead on...needless to say I was super jazzed! (I am really picky when it comes to printing!!)

A personalized calendar for my dad seemed like the best gift for this year. I made a custom calendar with panoramic images that I have taken over the last 2 years. They include my trips to the Caribbean, Egypt, Cyprus, Zion National Park, trails in Malibu, and the coast off Marina Del Rey in the Los Angeles. I was quite excited he really enjoyed his gift! I have been blessed to see and capture some great parts of our world.

Gingerbread Craziness!!

I have never made a gingerbread house from scratch...until this December! Turns out the Hanzon family are pros. We experimented taking it to another level and designed the two story beautiful home, complete with mailbox, flower boxes, icicles and a snowman. And yes the chimney is made of m&ms cut in half. If only we had an additional few days...there were many other possibilities brought to the table!

Thanksgiving in Joshua Tree California

Most years for Thanksgiving we gather as a family to our grandparent's cabin in Joshua Tree. Their cabin faces the Joshua Tree National Park. This year we actually went in the park and played on the rocks, as well as got a few fun shots. Great clouds are not a common occurrence in this beautiful desert landscape.
